OUR STORY
High Performance Solutions was founded in 2002 by Clayton Harper. Harper had worked in the supercomputing field at one of the worlds most powerful supercomputer centers located at the Naval Oceanographic Office at Stennis Space Center.
He started as a paperclerk in 1990, working his way to computer operator, shift supervisor, systems engineer and finally into management. Upon his departure from the contractor that held the prime contract at the supercomputing facility that he was employed by for the previous 12 years, Harper was the configuration manager, systems support manager and maintenance coordinator. Having dealt with facility issues beginning as a supervisor at the facility, he found his window of opportunity to start his own business when the facilities portion was removed from the supercomputing contract.
Harper started High Performance Solutions and placed a bid on the facilities aspect of the Naval Oceanographic Office maintaining generators and associated components. Initially, Harper and one employee occupied a “broom closet” as he describes the size of his first office. It was actually a forgotten office that Harper had noticed over the years that was occupied by the Chief Duty Officer in times of Hurricanes. Later in the year, Harper’s office was moved to a larger location in another building at Stennis Space Center.
The following contract year, Harper was asked to add services to his contract. Wanting his business to grow, he responded to the request and his company started to rapidly develop into a major facility maintenance contender.
Today, High Performance Solutions performs all aspects of facility maintenance, management, mechanical and IT support including grounds, lawn and landscaping.
